2008 - 2010

After leaving LucasArts I moved to North Carolina to work for Vicious Cycle Software as Lead Environment Artist. After the layoffs at Lucas I decided to look for a studio closer to Toronto on the East Coast so I could be closer to family. I worked on various projects at Vicious Cycle but some of the more memorable work was what I produced for their 2009 GDC Tech Demo and the work I did for their 2011 game, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon. It was the first game in the EDF series to be developed outside Japan.

As Lead Environment Artist on Earth Defense Force, I was responsible for Art Directing some of the cities architecture and developing the destructible building pipeline using Vicious Cycles proprietary game engine, utilizing 3DS Max to simulate various stages of destruction. I Lead a team of artists to build the database of buildings needed to fill the city.

One of the first projects I worked on at VCS was their 2009 GDC Tech Demo. I was the Lead working with a team of artists building an environment to demonstrate the capabilities of the Vicious Engine. The concept was to allow the player to explore a bombed out office building with dynamic hanging lights and a flooded ground level.
