My History

Born in Toronto, Canada 1975

  • 1987 - My first job was at a Hobby Shop in the Aurora Shopping Mall at the corner of Yonge and Murray Drive. The Hobby Shop sold and repaired Remote Controlled cars. Owned and operated by Ken Van Norte. I helped as a stock boy and general clean up kid. Because of my age I legally couldn’t be paid in cash so I was paid in RC Cars and other models. Sweet!

  • 1992 - Attended my first underground Rave at an Industrial Space in Toronto which is now the Cherry Beach Sound Studio. The Rave was called Nitrous 015 ‘The Swing Rave’ I dropped out of High School the following year.

  • 1993 - I produced my first Rave. Syrous ‘The Next Level’ was held on September 3rd, 1994 at Cinespace Film Studios on Eastern Avenue in Toronto. Syrous Productions went on to become the most popular and international recognized Jungle and Drum’n Bass Production company in North America. Flying in world renowned Dj’s and Live Acts from the UK and the United States. In 1998 I sold my share in the company to pursue a career in Video Games.

  • 1994 - I took a trip to the UK with Dj Sniper & Mystical Influence, meeting some of the top DJ’s in the Jungle & Drum’n Bass scene, visiting the legendary Paradise Club where A.W.O.L was held. Visited Music House where DJ’s and producers pressed dub-plates.

  • 1998 - With the release of Unreal, and later Unreal Tournament, I started making Environments for Video Games. I even had a UT Clan!

  • 1999 - Attended the International Academy of Design to purse a career in Video Games and 3D Computer Graphics. Graduated in 2000

  • 2001 - Entered a CG competition on CGTalk.com / CGNetworks. Won 1st place in the Post Apocalyptic Vehicle category.

  • 2002 - Started a new job working as a 3D modeler at Optix Digital Pictures in Toronto, working on a Sci-Fi TV series called Starhunter. This was also the year I began experimenting with photography. Shooting with a 2 megapixel Sony Cybershot digital camera.

  • 2003 - New job as a 3D Modeler working for video game company Digital Extremes in Toronto.

  • 2006 - Moved to San Francisco to work for George Lucas at Lucas Arts, working on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game.

  • 2007 - Started on online photo group called The Industrial Decay Network, dedicated to the documentation of abandoned Industrial architecture around the world. We released our first self published book in 2008 called IDN01. Last book released was IDN03 in 2010.

  • 2008 - Layoffs at Lucas Arts led me to work for a video game company in North Carolina, called Vicious Cycle Software.

  • 2010 - I returned to Toronto to start work at Ubisoft’s brand new Toronto studio in August 2010.

  • 2015 - My first time attending New York Fashion Week, photographing street style outside the fashion shows.

  • 2018 - Attended Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week shooting backstage at Dior & Chanel runway for Refinery29.

  • 2019 - Started collecting and shooting 8mm & 16mm Films, experimenting with Super 8 and 35mm Film

  • 2020 - Celebrating 10 years working at Ubisoft Toronto.
